"Capacity-building" often describes any intentional work that increases a group’s ability to achieve its mission and build long-term organizational stability. This work includes improving and organization’s operations, administration and management. These groups provide capacity-building and leadership development specifically for environmental organizations.

• CONCUR, Inc. www.concurinc.com offers services in environmental conflict resolution. A premier service provider, CONCUR, offers interactive training courses and seminars in the US and abroad.
• The Environmental Leadership Program, www.elpnet.org, inspires visionary, action oriented and diverse leadership to work for a just and sustainable future.
• Green Corps, www.greencorps.org, teaches the next generation of environmental leaders the strategies and skills they'll need to win tomorrow's environmental battles.
• Green Media Toolshed, www.greenmediatoolshed.org, is building and strengthening the communications infrastructure for the environmental movement. Green Media Toolshed is committed to providing tools and managing the communities' media assets.
• Institute for Conservation Leadership, www.icl.org, strengthens leaders, organizations, and coalitions or networks that protect and conserve the Earth.  ICL uses the tools of consulting, training, coaching, meeting facilitation and research to help groups more effectively accomplish their missions. 
• League of Conservation Voters Education Fund, www.voteenvironment.org, strengthens the capacity of the environmental movement to mobilize citizens as informed voters and advocates for sound environmental policies.
• Resource Media, www.resource-media.org, is dedicated to making the environment matter. Resource Media provides media strategy and services to non-profits, foundations and other partners who are working on the front lines of environmental protection.
• River Network, www.rivernetwork.org,is a national nonprofit organization working for clean and healthy waters. River Network supports grassroots groups working for watershed protection.
• State Environmental Leadership Program, www.selp.org, an alliance of more than 50 independent, nonprofit, public interest, multi-issue environmental advocacy organizations that focus on state-level policy.
• Sustainability Network, www.sustain.web.ca, works with environmental non-profits to make them more effective and efficient. By improving management and leadership skills and fostering organizational development, the Network helps to strengthen the environmental community.
